  Do I need to apply for a visa for shenzhen in India?

  i live in india mumbai nd am planning to go to hong kong ans then shenzhen. or i can go to hong kong and apply.i will be living in HK for 4 days.what will be cheaper and more convenient?
  also is the chinese embassy closed on mon,the 5th of may,2011.An early reply will be preferable.
