Question about Beijing Long-distance Bus Stations

  Bus from Beijing to Chengde

  I intend to go to Chengde .I would like to know the long distance bus station which is the closest from metro station Xitucheng of line 10(BeiHang University). How long is the trip, how frequent are the buses?

• the closest Bus station is the Xizhimen Long-distance Bus station. you can walk to Xuezhi Bridge South bus stop (near Exit D of Xitucheng subway station) to take bus Yuntong 103 to Beixiaguan stop, you can easily find the bus station.
  the buses to Chengde depart every few minutes from early morning (around 05:00) to late night (almost 24:00). the trip takes about 4.5 hours, and costs CNY 50.

• Thanks for your prompt reply. 4.5 hours sounds a bit long: I read that the trip takes only 2.5 hours by the highway. Was it a wrong information?

  you're right. it takes about 2.5 hours if by the highway, but some of the buses do not go through the highway, so it takes about 4.5 hours.

  We are looking for long distance bus from Beijing to Bashan Grassland, which buses can go to the grassland directly? Do we have to buy tickets in advance? Where can we buy the tickets, how long is the journey and how frequent are the buses?

• there's no direct bus from Beijing to Bashang Grassland. but you can go to Liuliqiao Long-distance bus station to take the bus to Fengning, which depart every 30 minutes from 06:00 early in the morning. it takes about 4 -5 hours to Fengning, and than you can take a local bus to the grassland which takes about 1.5 hours.
  the bus fare is about CNY 45 + 15 = 60 per person. no need to buy the ticket in advance.
