Is there a tax to bringing gifts of jewelry (tourqoise)value @$280; a watch ($200); a apple ipod ($100)? Need receipts?
Also some smaller items as a "care package" for my son & his wife - vitamins, chocolate bars, shampoo, beard trimmer, etc...

- I find that most of the things you will take into China have to be declared and taxed. To smooth you trip, take all of the receipts and necessary documents with you and ask your wife in China to contact the local China customs to have a detailed enquiry about this in advance if possible.Answered by Jack | Sep. 19, 2011 20:33
