yes, it is possible. you can have your visa extended in the local exit and enter department. the period how long you can stay is decided by the visa officer.

Thanks alot for the useful tips and information, I just noticed on my application form the part you have to fill out the name and the address of the company you are going to visit, says ShenZhen! But,the invitaion letter I have is from some well reputed company in foshan. Is this a problem??
