Question about China Customs Declarations
-
Are there any upper limits for different types of luxurary goods a chinese tourist carries from US?
I will carry with me the following produts:
Two ipads, one for myself and one as a gift. Each of the two is at $500.
Two coach bads, both for myself at the value of $300 each
Two watches at the value of $1000 each for myself.
So the total amount exceeds RMB 5000. Do I need to pay taxes for any of the items I will purchase from America? How to determine which item is taxed at what value and what rate? Thank you!Asked by kaitlyn Lee | Sep. 29, 2011 08:56Answer Question

- Hi Kaitlyn,
according to the regulation of the Chinese Customs, you need to pay the tax for them, and all the items you mentioned will be taxed.
you need to 10 % of the whole price for your ipad, and 20 % of the prices for your bags and watches.Answered by Kate | Sep. 29, 2011 19:48
