How to get permanent residency in China after some year of stay & having Chinese wife?
I have stayed in China for 5 years. 4 of them I was studying in University, afterward I got job and also I got married in China one year ago. I m working legally on a proper Z visa. I want to stay in China with my wife permanently. I heard from somewhere a person who got married need to wait 5 years (some says 8 years) to get permanent residency. I want to know what really the procedure is? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

- As far as I know, it's very hard to get the China D visa these years, although the Chinese policy stipulates that a person who has stay in China for a continous five years may apply for the China D visa .The fact is totally different, since China is not an immigration country like Australia or other European countries.
In addition, you've just married for one year. You will have the qualification to apply for the D visa at least after 5 years' marrige life, during which, you have to stay in China for at least 9 months per year. You also have to provide proof of a steady job and residence in China then.
Anyway, it's hard to get the D visa. Wish you good luck!Answered by Bruce | Dec. 09, 2011 01:17
