  What do you know about the Chinese folk festival 'Winter Solstice'?

• I find that Shirley said that on that day, most Chinese will eat dumplings. Is there any other information about this festival? Does anybody know its origin?

• I just know the winter solstice symbolizing the winter's truly coming. People will eat dumplings on that day traditionally. Heard about from the old people, if you don't eat dumpling that day, your ear will be frozen out. Funny? But i don't know why..

• If you don't eat dumpling that day, your ear will be frozen out. The Chinese are really good at persuading to eat the dumplings. But that's fine, for dumplings are very delicious.
