- It can be tried among my friends, but for unknown people - impossible. What if my property is lost or being accused unreasonably? It is hard to decide the issue.

- Sophia, the thing that travelers learn right away is to trust the rest of the world. I have a disability and have been able to depend upon strangers in many countries when I travel. The people who have stayed in my New York city apartment, as well as my vacation house, have been friends and friends of friends. If there is someone to vouch for a person, that usually means that the person in the middle trusts both of you.
In addition, you can continue to ask questions of the potential guest. If the person who wants to stay in your home doesn't want to answer basic questions, that should send up a notice to you that this might not work.
It's like any new friendship--if you cannot trust your instincts and you cannot get good answers, don't do it! But you will be that much richer if you do...a friend of mine in Belgium travels this way all the time!Answered by Maxene (US) | May. 24, 2009 16:04 - If the introducer can guarantee that both parties are genuine the house owner,so nothing should be worried as both take care of each other's property.Answered by Alan (UK) | Dec. 26, 2009 11:42
