  how far is the Summer palace from the Forbidden City ?

  can i get to the Summper Palace from the Forbidden City by foot?
  or what buses can i take?

• Hi Kimiko,
  the Summer Palace is about 20 km from the Forbidden City, and i don't think it is a good idea to walk there.
  you can take bus No. 614 from the north gate of the Forbidden City to Hai Dian Huang Zhuang Stop, and take a bus No. 718, 683, 332, or 601 to the Summer Palace.
