On a round trip flight., if upon the return trip the weight exceeds the maximum would I be charged 1.5% on the entire flight cost or just 1.5% of the cost of the return flight?

- hi Charles,
the regulation for luggage is different in different air companies, so which flight are you going to take?
if the luggage exceeds the maximum weight upon yoru return trip, you are charged 1.5% on the cost of return flight.Answered by Tina | Jan. 11, 2012 18:00 - I'll be flying Shandong Airlines from Bejing to Jinan. The flight was booked separately from my Delta Int return flight for which I'll be paying $75 US for te extra bag. Is there any way Shandong air will consider their flight as a continution of the itnl flight so that I'm not paying twice for the same bag. If I should have to pay again for the excess luggage my round trip airfare is 1260 RMB (1500 with tax). My return fare would be 630 RMB (without the tax). Is the 1.5% on the untaxed amount? Do I understand correctly that it's 1.5% of the 630 RMB per kilo in excess of the 20 kilos? Assuming I was 20 kilos over that would be 9.65 RMB per kilo or approx $1.60 US per kilo or $32 US in total for the 20 kilo overage. Are my calculations right? - I'm afraid you have to pay for the extra 20 km luggage for the flight from Beijing Tianjin again. The cost is 1.5% of a full economy-class airfare per kilogram exclude the airprort construction fee and fuel charge. I find that the full economy-class airfare of Beijing-Jinan is CNY630, so You have to pay CNY630X1.5%X20=CNY189 actually.Answered by Kevin | Jan. 12, 2012 18:15
