Question about China G Visa (Transit Visa)

I have to leave the secure area to get my disability scooter while in transit. Do I need a visa
Singapore Airlines is taking my mobility scooter away from me in Perth Western Australia, and putting it on my plane as checked baggage. It has a non spillable, sealed battery but they have no policy regarding this type of battery despite much documentation I have supplied from the manufacturer of this battery and produced policies from 7 other major airlines who let me have my mobility scooter to the door of the aircraft and return it for me on dis embarking my flight. They have refused to return it to me in Beijing where I will be changing from Singapore Airlines to Air Canada to travel on to Vancouver, Canada. They have told me I will have to go to the over size baggage area to claim my mobility scooter. I am disabled and don't know how I will get to this area and if I need a visa to exit the secure area for the limited time it will take to retrieve my scooter. I have a 3 hour stop in Beijing between flights. Do I need a visa or if not, how will I get out through security and back through again without problems. I am travelling alone and need my disability scooter as I can't walk very far.

- Hi Frances,
the air company usually offers mobility aids for people who requires special assistance, so i think you'd better communicate with the air company in advance. in this way, you don't need to exit the security area to claim your mobility scooter by yourself.Answered by Lisa | Feb. 16, 2012 19:40 - Thanks Lisa but as I said Singapore Airlines is refusing to bring my scooter to the secure area. I can get someone to push me in a regular wheelchair but as I said I have to leave secure area to get my scooter from the oversized baggage area. To do this I have ben told I need a visa but I do not know how to get one or where especially at this late a date ( 2 days before my flights. Singapore Airlines have only just notified me. Up until now they have assured me there would be no problem and have either lied or gone back on their word.Answered by Frances Hamilton (Australia) | Feb. 17, 2012 01:04
- as you only stay in the Beijing airport for three hours for transit, you don't need to apply a visa, and as i mentioned, the Singapore Airlines may help you with the transit procedures in the airport, so don't worry and enjoy your trip!Answered by Lisa | Feb. 17, 2012 01:36
