Question about China Embassy in Spain

Chinese Visa Formalities.
Hi,
Good afternoon.
I am an Indian Passport holder and resident in Spain. I have couple of questions regarding China Visa.
1- Do I have to Go to Consulate / Embassy Personally or Can I send documents by Post.
2- How many days it takes to process the visa.
3- My Spanish residency has expired and its in renewal process, I have ´carta de regresso´ can I still apply?
4- Do I have to take an appointment or I could just walk in the Consulate.

- 1. the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General now does not offer visa service, and you need to apply the Chinese Visa through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Madrid. you can either go in person to apply it or apply by post.
2. usually 4 -5 working days after you submit all the required documents.
3. to apply a Chinese visa, you have to provide a residence permit or valid visa in Spain. what is a 'Carta de regresso' ?
