Applying for HK ID Card
1. Can I still apply for the HK smart ID card through the Vancouver Chinese Embassy after Mar 31, 2012?
2. What do I need to bring besides the old HK ID card? Please note I was born in China, not in HK.

- 1. Yes, you can.
2. You need to provide the following documents:
a. completely filled Hk ID card application form ROP143 and its copy
b. application form ID845 for overseas applicants
c. two recent identical photographs of 29 mm (width) x 35 mm (height)
d. your old Hk Id card
e. Your birth certificate and parent’s permanent identity card if you claim the right of abode in Hong Kong by virtue of your parent’s status in Hong Kong. Or Your birth certificate if you were born in Hong Kong.
If you have got citizenship of Canada, you also have to provide the original and copies of your Citizenship Card & Record of Landing.Answered by Kevin | Apr. 02, 2012 20:24
