  Does it ever stop to let people go ashore to see any local sights?
  Is it part of any area tour? If not, how to travel/from each end?

• the cruise ship usually does not stop on the way.
  it can be a part of the tour in Guilin or you can only take the ship as a seperate cruise tour.
  the ship usually travels from Guilin to Yangshuo, which can also be reach by bus.
