Question about China Customs Declarations

  Armani Purses

  Hi, I will be travelling to Hong Kong from USA, and then from Hong Kong to China.. I was wondering how many brand name purses I can bring through customs without incurring duty. These are authentic purses with original receipt. Will I have any problems carrying these through?

• if the total value of the purses is exceeding CNY 5,000, you need to declare them and pay for the tax.

• Thank you for your very helpful answer. But I would also like to ask you Helen, so the quantity does not matter? its just the total value? Total value according to price tags or receipt? since I purchased them through one of their sales.
