  Can Australian apply chinese visa in Malaysia?

  I hold an Australian passport. Currently, i am staying in china with my partner. As my visa going to expire at the end of the year, I plan to go to malaysia and apply for a tourist "L" visa. Can foreigners apply for china visa in malaysia? and if yes, can i apply by post/travel agent or do i have to go to the office personally. This is because im staying in ipoh, not in kl.

• I'm afraid you will not be able to get a China visa in Malaysia, since the China Embassy and consulate there require applicants holding passports other than Malaysian passports should provide the original and a copy of his or her permanent residence or work permit which should be valid for at least 6 months as the assistance for the China visa application.
