According to the report by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping in 2009, the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty was from Hushan Town beside the Yalü River to Jiayuguan Pass in Gansu province. The total length was over 8,851 kilometers (5,496.5 miles) through Liaoning, Hebei, Beijing, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu, and Qinghai.
