Question about China Embassy in Malaysia
-
I am a Russian citizen travelling in Malaysia
One of basic requirements for applying for any type of Chinese visa is the following: Applicants of other countries need to provide an original and a copy of Malaysian residence permit or a valid Malaysian visa.
I am permitted to stay in Malaysia for 30 days as holder of Russian passport. So I don't need Malaysian visa.
In this case may I apply for Chinese visa in Kuching? I need it because I go back to Russia through China (Beijing, then Manzhouli)Asked by Dmitry (Russia) | Jan. 07, 2013 09:04Answer Question

- it seems you are going to take a train back to Russia, right?
if yes, you'd better apply the transit visa to China through the Chinese Embassy in your country before going to Malaysia.
if you are already in Malaysia, you can have a try as the requirement for G-visa (transit visa) may be a little different from that of the tourist visa.
by the way, as a Russian citizen, you are allowed to stay in Beijing for at most 72 hours for transit if you travel by air (enter and exit through the Beijing Capital Airport).Answered by Lisa | Jan. 07, 2013 19:47
