Items and Cash to be declared for inbound and outbound travel.
We are coming from the US going to China. Each of us will have a cell phone, camera, and one kindle fire. All are used, and personal use, do we need to declare that? And do each adult have a form or one form per family to fill out?
We are planning to buy ginseng as gifts to bring back to China, what is the rule and declaration on that?
For the $5000 US cash, is that per person or per family?

- you don't need to declare the personal items you mentioned above.
the price of ginseng each of you take should not exceed CNY 2,000, no need to declare. For non-Chinese residents, personal items intended to remain in China worth over CNY 2,000 shoule be declared. so if the ginseng each of you take is over CNY 2,000, you should declare it.
the $5,000 US cash limit is for per person.
