Can I bring in 10 - 17 lbs of american ginseng as gifts
I purchased, in the usa, 10 lbs of american ginseng (wisconsin ginseng), and probably am looking at another 5-7 pounds. Can I bring that in in a suitcase?
I know I have to get the paper from the farmer who sold it to me - no problem.
This ginseng is a gift and a gift only to all my future inlaws (parents, sisters, aunts & uncles). Each to receive 1 kg of the stuff.
It is, under no circumstances, for resale. It is gift to future inlaws only;.
Do I need any special documents other than declaring it. It is packaged in freezer bags, not commercial packaging.

- i heard that American ginseng are not allowed to enter China, unless a small amount as gift or ginseng products. some said an export license is required. you'd better consult the China Customs for detailed information. Answered by Nancy | Mar. 30, 2014 21:33
