Macau Visa and Multiple Entry Chinese F-Visa
I'm a Japanese Passport holder and I have a 2-year multiple entry Chinese visa (F-visa). Since I worked in Macau before and have a lot of friends there, I want to stay in Macau rather than in China. I have an apartment in Macau but every few days I go to China for a few hours' meetings/visiting companies. Now my Macau tourist visa (90 days) is getting decreased no matter how often I go to China. I know if my Macau visa expires, I will need to go out of Macau for 30 days before I can come back. Is there any way I can avoid this to happen? If I live in China and come to Macau almost every day, will my Macau visa expire as well?

- As a Japanese passport holder, you are exempt from Macau visa for 90 days, so you are granted a 90-day visa-free period once you enter Macau, and the period expires as you leave Macau for Mainland China.
the only way i know to avoid the situation you mentioned is to apply a Macau visa.Answered by Emma | Apr. 20, 2014 21:36 - Thank you for your reply, Emma. But I'm not sure if you get me right.
I will write an example below:
1st entry to Macau on May 1st: 90 days given
2nd entry to Macau on May 4th: 87 days
3rd entry to Macau on May 5th: 86 days
4th entry to Macau on May 8th: 83 days
5th entry to Macau on May 12th: 79 days
...
Around the end of July: 0 days
As you can see, I get shorter visa every time I enter Macau, instead of 90 days. If it continues, my Macau visa will be expired in 90 days and I will not be able to enter Macau for the next 30 days even though I just visit Macau for meeting my friends. Is there any way to avoid it?
You mentioned applying for a Macau visa, but as far as I know, there's no visa tourists can apply in Macau.Answered by TJ (Japan) | Apr. 21, 2014 12:06 - acorrding to the visa policy of Macau, you should have been given a 90-day visa free period every time you enter Macau. i guess the immigration officers found each of you entry are too close, so they gave you a shorter period.
you have two choices: one is to apply for a visa extension in Macau before your current visa expires; the second is to stay in Mainland China for a longer period of time, it may not have to be 30 days, maybe a couple of days, like 10 days, before re-enter Macau.
do not run the risk of overstaying.
there is of course tourist visa to Macau, people from the countries that do not enjoy visa exemption are required to apply for a visa before entering Macau.Answered by Emma | Apr. 21, 2014 20:56 - Thank you for your reply. I will try staying in China longer. Of course I have no intention to overstay in Macau. Thanks for your advice and have a great day!Answered by TJ (Japan) | Apr. 22, 2014 01:17
