Question about Yanmenguan Pass

can you see the Yanmen Wall and walk on it from this pass?
Hello all,
We want to visit this pass on our way from Taiyuan to Datong. Our children (born in China and age 7 and 9) want to see the big wall and stand and walk on it. A few questions:
- I can not find picture from this pass where you can see the wall 'curling into the landscape'. Can anyone tell us if we can see it from there and walk for a short while on the wall?
- Can you access this pass by car or do you need a walk to get there. If yes, how long is this walk.
- Someone also mentioned Yanggou as an area to visit the wall from Datong. Does anyone knows more about this and well us what we can see there?

- As I know, the Yanmen Pass is just a gate tower without miles of walls nearby. The walls nearby are in runis because of the bad environment. If you want to see and walk a while on the wall, the different sections in Beijing are the best places to go.
From Taiyuan, you can take a bus from Taiyuan East Bus Station to Daixian County and then hire a local car to reach the Yanmen Pass site. Then you can buy an entrance ticket to climb on the gate.
From Datong, you can directly hire a local car to the Pass in around one hour or take a bus for Daixian County and then use Daixian's cars to reach the Pass.
