Question about Xian

  Traveling to Xian from the US, how much US currency is allowed.

  If I bring more than 5,000 US currency into China is there penalties or taxes on the amount over 5,000, or could I split the amount up so that my wife and I each had less than 5,000 without having to declare anything then?
