  If chrysanthemum is a symbol of death, is it ok to give one as a gift?

  What about a painting of a chrysanthemum? Can you give that as a gift?

• If it is a gift for an acquaintance, don't present a painting of chrysanthemum, which is a symbol of death indeed. But if he/she is your friend who loves paintings very much, it is fine to present that, but avoid giving on a festival.
