English Teacher 2 years teaching in China - just hired teach again in China - DUI 15 years ago help
HI,
I am on my third contract getting ready to go back to China from the U.S.. In the past, I used a recruiter who took care of everything for me and nothing ever seemed to be an issue in obtaining the Visa. Now I am on my own. Completed all paper work for the new position and a letter of approval is on it's way. I had a DUI 15 years ago and recently noticed that on the application for the Visa this time it asks if the applicant has a criminal record. Will I be able to get a Visa from the Consulate? Any advice? I sure could use some help on this. ESL Teaching is my #1 passion and if I cannot continue on this career path, I will be crushed. Anyone out there in a similar situation or has someone else been through something like this? I appreciate all good honest advice!Asked by WJB (United States) | Jun. 17, 2015 20:03Answer Question

- Hey, DUI is not a big deal, it's just a minor misbehaviour. I don't think it will affect your application.Answered by Dan (Japan) | Jul. 12, 2015 03:14
