Question about Visa Refusal

Denied L (tourist VISA)
Hi All
I had applied to the Chinese consulate in Cape Town for a double entry L (tourist) VISA. I applied through a VISA agency (visa express in Cape Town). The consulate rejected my application and informed the agency that I would need to first meet the following requirements:
a) A new bank statement with a minimum balance of R130 000 (RMB 60 000).
b) A new detailed itenary of the intended visit.
I am intending to visit Suzhou in China to visit a friend. I just don't understand why such a large amount would be required to have as a deposit in my bank account. Can someone please advise me on this.
Thank you kindly, any advice as to reasons for this refusal would be very much appreciated.Asked by Nick (South Africa) | Apr. 29, 2016 07:56Answer Question

- As I know, you needn't provide the proof of your financial status. In addition, you can ask your Chinese friends to issue an invitation letter to you, so that you needn't provide detailed itinerary of your trip. Actually, you can apply for a L type at the CVASC at Johannesburg and Durban. Answered by John (America) | May. 03, 2016 22:11
