  What are the laws departing China if in possession of gold statue

  A friend of mine is a Philippine National working in China. She was given a gold statue by her employer as a gift. What is she required to do , to leave China to visit the United States in possession of the gold statue ?

• As I know, one is allowed to take gold of no more than 50kg out of the country without declaration. Or, you may get the permit of the Bank of China for taking this amount of gold in advance. However, it is still suggested you contac the China customs to get the certain answer.
