Is a crew visa in an old passport still valid?

i'm afraid not, i think you need to consult the Embassy to see if the old visa can be renewed, if not, then you need to apply a new visa.

it should be valid. as long as the old passport is still effective in date, meaning not yet expired! Anyways, how did the crew member get the visa stamped if he/she did not have enough number of months left in his/her passport? usually, there should be at least 6 months left in a passport before a visa can be stamped.

yes, there should be at least 6 months left in the passport, if not, then you need to renew your passport first and then apply the visa.

Hi, I have a green passport with expiry date on Aug. 2013, I applied for China Visa in Cebu Chinese Embassy last week but my passport was dishonored since they are no longer accepting "green Philippine passport" even not yet expired, it was according to the travel agency who facilitated my documents.Is it true? Please give me some inputs.Thank you.
