Question about China Customs Declarations

  Taking $10,000 through airport leaving China

  I am looking to take $10,000 in cash through Shanghai airport when I leave China flying back to the UK. I have no problem declaring it with customs but will I be taxed on this cash?

• You need to get a "Permit for Taking Foreign Currency out of the Customs Territory" for a China bank. Then it will be stamped at the customs, and you are allowed to take the cash out.
