But in the Q & A dated Oct 13, 2017, it says you need a transit visa.

- Oh, the new regulation stays that Malaysian passsport holders have to take the transit visa when transferring in China now. So it is best to apply for one in advance. Answered by Hank (Germany) | Feb. 23, 2018 17:41
- No, you don't need visa as long as you don't go out of immigration checking area. I transited at Pudong Airport twice to Japan recently. Transit time 7 hours. I didn't need visa. Make sure you inform the ground officers you're transmitting internationally and they will point you the right way. This only apply to several airport in China. Best check with Malaysia China Embassy website for the list of airport.Answered by Lizy (Malaysia) | Dec. 18, 2018 15:17
