Is visa needed for 3 days transit?
Dear sir /madam, We are UK passport holders. We plan to visit Shanghai for 2 to 3 days (less than 72hours stay ) before we embark on our Cruise ship from Shanghai Cruise Terminal. Do we need visas for this short stay?
We have little time before we travel to China. We are currently on holiday in Spain. If visas are required, can we apply in Madrid? And what documents do we need to present besides our British passports?
Thank you.

- No. visa is not needed. Your case qualifies for 144h visa-free transit. After arriving in Shanghai, present your passport and the cruise booking proof, and you will be allowed to visit the city visa-free. I presume you will fly into Shanghai, then don't forget to fill in the Arrival/Departure Card onboard before landing.Answered by Monica (USA) | Feb. 25, 2018 23:16
