  Should I apply for the visa using an invitation letter?

  I am currently in india for studies...My childhood friend is currently in china for the same purpose and he wants to send me an invitation to visit him in China during the summer...Do u guys think I should apply for the visa using an invitation letter or should I apply for an independent tourist visa whereby I will have to book a hotel,cancel it without paying n then live with my friend upon reaching

• You may take the invatation letter and other required documents to the CVASC in India and try to apply for a Chinese visa.
