  I'm an American living on Yokosuka Naval Base and would like to apply for work visa in China

  I'm an American living on the Yokosuka Naval Base. I would like to know the procedure is for applying for the work visa. I will be working in Shanghai. What is the cost, can I pay in dollars or yen? Is there a district office in Kanagawa Prefecture?

• I found out there are immigration offices in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka. You need to submit application form, passport and its copy, and employment certificate. You can pay in yen and it costs JPY8,400 for a normal application.
