Student visa application returned without reason.... Best way to get a new work visa in the
After a year of working in China on a Z visa and residence permit, In April my application for an X2 Student visa in Hong Kong was not accepted and my application and documents were returned to the visa agency without explanation. I applied instead for a 30 day port entry visa and i was granted an S2 visa and entered China the next day. I am now back in the UK and have decided to accept a new teaching job in Guangxi province for November. It will be 5 months since the Hong Kong situation when i apply for a Z work visa in London/Manchester. Will this previous situation affect my new application? I will have all the notarised/legalised documents, work pemits, invitation letters etc. I dont know whether to explain this situation in the new application because they didnt give me a reason for returning it and im not sure if it counts as having been refused a visa or not?? + i was still allowed to enter the mainland but on a different visa. i think it was returned because they thought i was trying to work on a student visa even though i had release letters from my school and invitations/proof of going on to study Tai Chi and Chinese, or it could have been simply because i filled things out incorrectly!! I don't know. Any thoughts?

- Generally, the embassy would not give you specific reasons for your refusal. You are advised to fully prepare the required documents and double-check the information. The wrong information might be a big reason for the refusal. And normally, the refusal has less effect on the next application. Good luck!Answered by Brian (USA) | Jul. 30, 2018 01:45
- Hi, I have been working in China for 18 years and have now reached retirement age and be unable to renew my Z visa. I will not continue teaching but wish to stay on in China. A good friend of mine ( Chinese friend ) wants to provide me a letter of invitation so I can get a 10 year visa. I have my social security pension directly deposited to the BOC. Do you think I can get the 10 year visa in Hong Kong keeping in mind I haven't lived in the USA for 18 years.
