  criminal record over 5 years ago

  My hubby has a criminal record from 5 years ago for taking the blame off a friend for drugs found.
  I am worried this might stop him from getting a Chinese visa? but we really want to go.
  Hoping that it was over 5 years ago, it wouldnt matter and we are booking through tour guides with a really good itinerary so hopefully that will give us a better chance. whats everyones thoughts?
