  how long does it take to visit the Forbidden City?

  do i need to go there in the early morning or anytime i like?
  do i need a professional tour guide in it? are there any free guide??

• hi Recheal,
  the forbidden city is really big. it took me the whole afternoon to visit there, but i still did not finish it. so i think you need to go there in the morning.
  there are no free guides. you can hire a guide at the entrance or there is a kind of guide machine, you may rent one.
