Question about Shenzhen

  Do we need to acquire visa if we enter Shenzhen from Hongkong?

  My family and I are planning to spend our New year at Shenzhen but our entry point is in Hongkong. Do we still need to acquire visa or we could just ask for entry permit at the border? last time we went there we were in group tour, we just took entry permit at the border with the assistance of the tour guide but can we just do the same... how about a re-entry after going to Macau? Do we still need to secure these travel documents at our point of origin(Philippines) or is it possible to just apply for it instantly? Please Help....Thanks!

• Will also be in Shenzhen New Years Eve. Yes, You will need an Entry Visa. Don't plan on getting one at the border in case something goes wrong. I was in China 2007 and saw nowhere at border entry to apply for one.Did read somewhere once that visa was possible there except fr americans. I stronly advise you apply for visa at embassy or consulate. You should be able to download application from the web. Number of entry options avail...suggest 6 months, multiple entry, that way you can go to and from as you wish. Cost in Australia to obtain.... AUD$60. You'll also need a passport photo to attach to your application. Happy Holidays...
