Question about China Visa
-
Does my fiance need to go to his country for the visa application?
Hi, I am from Ecuador, my fiance is from Croatia. We lived together since 2007 in China.
Last December on 15, 2010 we came back from China to Ecuador to introduce my fiance to my family.
Before to leave China we were told that he can apply a extension visa F or apply a new tourist visa from Ecuador without any problem.
We planned to stay only one moth in Ecuador cause I also need to apply for a working visa and I got it.
My fiance went to apply at the Chinese Embassy in Ecuador a tourist visa to come back to Shanghai with me because together we share an apartment where it is all our stuff but the secretary of the Embassy told him he cannot cause he is not a Ecuadorian resident , that he should go to apply in his Country or in a different country .
Now we do not what to do cause our flight back ticket is Ecuador-Houston-New York-Shanghai and the only representation does he has in our way is in New york, it is possible he can apply there?? What does he needs to do?
or There is a chance he can apply a accompanying visa ???( fiance visa)
Or what else he can do? because he only came to visit my family and we were informed he can apply from here.
Please I need a solution. This situation It had been a nightmare for us. I cannot leave him here alone.
Looking forward for your kind reply.

- In principle, you can apply for the China tourist visa from the China Embassy in New york, bus I don't think you have enough time, since you will just lay over there, right? If the embassy didn't give him a toursit visa, I think a accompanying visa would be also impossible. Considering your condition, I think your fiance has to go back to his country to apply for the China visa.Answered by Ben | Jan. 18, 2011 19:26
