Question about China Customs Declarations

  How should I declare the purpose of the musical items to bring with and will they be taxed?

  We are one of the fellowships of a US church and plan to go to China to record the Cantonese Opera music tracks in Shen Zhen to be used for the fellowship opera singing. We will bring a mixer, a laptop and 8 microphones to do the recording in one music center. We expect to have at least 3 trips to complete the recording of the tracks for the whole opera play. How should I declare the purpose of the items to bring with and will they be taxed? I consider this is for personal use because not commercial use.
