• hotels are clean and safe, but will be more expensive than guesthouse. however you will get a close touch with the local life and people if you stay in a guesthouse.
  it is possible for a one-day trip to the dunes by jeep.
  from Zhangye to Alashan, you can go to the Zhengye Long-distance bus station to take the coach to Alashan Youqi.
