  In mid-July, is the rain in Guilin or Yangshuo a steady monsoon type rain, or does it come and go? We'd like to get outside at least some of the time to see the area.

• it is the rainy season in July and August, but it is hard to say whether it will rain this mid-july.
  i think you need to check the weather forecast before you go there.
