  Is 5 days enough to tour Tibet and visit Mt Everest Base Camp?

  HI everyone
  
  Does anyone know if 5 days is enough to tour Tibet and visit Mt Everest Base Camp? Do I just obtain permit from the travel agent in Tibet/China or Australia? We (2 of us)didnt book our return tickets from Aus - China through an agent.
  
  We only have 2 weeks to visit shanghai- Beijing- Xian and Tibet but really want to go to Mt Everest Base Camp.
  
  Also, where/who can I book the Tibet tour that incl Base camp? I heard you cant travel alone in Tibet, has to do it with a tour is that right?
  
  Anyone would like to join us for the Tibet tour end of Oct 2011?

• 5 days is totally enough to visit the Mt. Everest Base Camp. If you have booked a Tibet via travel agent, your guide should prepare the permit for you well. It doesn't matter whether you have booked return flight ticket.
  Ps: you are not allowed to travel in Tibet alone without tour guide.
  
  I found this website does supplies some nice Tibet tours also include Beijing, Shanghai and Xian. You may ask them for help.
