Question about China L Visa (Tourist Visa)

  Is L visa the best one for me to stay in China forever?

  At the present time I have a Residence Visa, as I work here in China. That visa runs out in October and I plan to retire before that. I am married to a Chinese lady and I plan to stay here forever. I've read about "D" visas but I've been told that you must be married for 5 years before you can apply. Is the "L" visa the best way to go?
