What is the best option? take taxi to Grand Mercure Zhongya Hotel or subway/bus??
I will have total 3 people traveling w/ 1 lugguge each. Should we just take a cab which seems to be about $50 RMB or will it be better taking a subway/bus to the hotel? (Hotel name: Grand Mercure Zhongya, address: 330 Meiyuan Road Zhabei District, Shanghai, 200070 China)
I believe the hotel is right above a subway metro line? the Shanghai Railway station is close by as well? What do you suggest.
On a side note, Do cabs charge extra per person or extra for luggage?
From this hotel, where is a good main tourist area to get dropped off at? Shopping/siteseeing? how much would it costs by cab? or should we use subway metro since it's right below the hotel?
Thanks for your help!Asked by Dave | Sep. 29, 2011 12:44Answer Question

- hi Dave,
i think subway is more convenient and economic.
you can take subway line 10 to South Shaanxi Road Station, and transfer to line 1 to Shanghai Railway station, and exit form Exit No. 5.
or you can take subway line 10 from the Hongqiao Airport to Hongqiao Station, and transfer to Subway line 3 or line 4 to Shanghai Railway station. Exit form Exit 5, you will find the hotel eaily.
the fare is CNY 7 - 8 per person.
from the hotel, you can take subway line 1 to the People's Square station, and subway line 2 to East Nanjing Road Station, where there are Nanjing Road, Huangpu River, and the Bund.Answered by Polly | Sep. 29, 2011 20:35
