  can i apply the TTP by myself?

  hello,
  i'm James from Australia. I'm planing my trip to China in May, 2012. i also want to visit Tibet during this trip, but I was told i have to get a TTP, Tibet Travel Permit, beforehand. some also tell me that i can only travel with a tour group. :(
  is that true?
  can i apply the permit by myself and go there without join in a group?

• Individual travelers are not allowed to enter Tibet and are not able to get the Tibet Entry Permit. You have to take part in a Tibet tour group.
