US currency declaration by foreigners in China.
I am a foreigner to China and an International traveller. I come to China on short visit and depart. While departing, is it necessary to declare US currency that is not earned in China. The countries like Singapore have laws to declare the amount for the purpose of record keeping, what is the purpose of declaring currency in China. Also what is procedure to follow/ what documents to show.

- I know that foreigners are only allowed to take at most 5,000 US dollars (or equivalent in any foreign currency) into China. If take more, they will have to declare it at the customs of the airport when enter China. The documents needed are a fulfilled Declaration Form and your travel certificates such as passport.Answered by Wesley | Jan. 13, 2012 17:15
