I already have Verification of Eligibility for HKID, how can I apply HKID in Vancouver, BC?
I was born in Vancouver BC. My parents were born in HK and have HK permanent ID. I would like to apply for HK Permanent ID card and HK passport here in Vancouver. My "Verification of Eligibility for Permanent Identity Card" has been approved in July 2010 when I was visiting HK. What would be the procedures, if I apply here. What do I bring, how long it takes, how much it costs? Thank you for answers.

- Hi Collin,
you can apply the Hong Kong Permanet ID card and the HK passport through the Chinese Embassy or Consulate General in Vancouver.
the documents you need to submit are: your birth certificate, your parent's HK ID card, and two recently taken photos of light-colored background, and a size of 29 mm * 35 mm.
it takes about 6 - 8 weeks, and no fee is charged for first-time applicantsAnswered by Ashley | Feb. 07, 2012 17:22 - Can you advise under which rule you are eligible to recieve a HKID? Do you have the link as my situation the same as yoursAnswered by Robert (NZ) | May. 20, 2014 06:57
