  layover at Guangzhou airport - visa required?

  I have a 19 hour layover at Guangzhou airport on a trip from Australia to Japan. Do I need a visa to stay overnight at the Baiyun Hotel?

• As I know, Baiyun hotel is located outside the airport, so you will have to apply for a China transit visa for this.

• The pullman airport hotel is within the airport. It is 3 minute walk from the departure terminal. I don't know if need visa. I have read a few comments that said no. I am trying to find this out as well

• you don't have to apply a transit visa if you stay in the Pullman hotel for a transit not more than 24 hours.
