10 hours wait Stopover in Xiamen
We have a ticket for family of 4, my 2 sons are British passport while me and my wife are Philippine passport. We will depart from Birmingham UK which included a 10 hours wait stopover in Xiamen Airport before reaching Manila. Since it is arriving on daytime probably no trnsit hotel accomodation will be provided by the airline. and we are planning to go beyond the airport for short break in the Xiamen City. My question is do we need a transit visa? is it from airline we need an advance notification? or when we arriving at Xiamen Airport and go strait to Frontier Inspection for permission. Thank you very much

- a transit visa is not required if you stay within the airport for not more than 24 hours for transit.
but you need to apply a transit visa if you plan a short break in Xiamen city.
for the transit visa, you need to apply it through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in London.
the required documents are: your passport with at least 6 months' validity, and at least 2 blank pages, copy of the information page of your passport, a visa application form, the air tickets from Birmingham to Manila.Answered by Linda | Jun. 19, 2013 21:06
