  Do i need a transit visa for a layover in shanghai connecting flyt to los angeles from manila?

  I am a filipino with a valid u.s tourist visa flying china eastern airlines going to los angeles with a lay over in shanghai for 4 hours for connecting with the same airlines but would be changing planes in shanghai pu dong airport. I dont intend to go out of the airport would i still be needing a transit visa? Would our baggage will be checked through?

• no, you don't need to apply the transit visa as long as you do not leave the airport.
